POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director, Strategic Planning & Implementation will partner with the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) to drive the development and execution of holistic revenue strategies across the Institute’s three revenue-generating teams: Marketing, Partnerships, and Development. This high-level individual contributor will serve as a key strategist and implementer, focusing on aligning short- and long-term goals, enhancing operational processes, and generating revenue.
Working closely with senior leaders, this role will establish clear communication pathways, produce innovative go-to-market materials, and foster a collaborative and inclusive environment to achieve organizational objectives. Additionally, this role will collaborate with Utah community outreach and government affairs to craft compelling grant proposals and secure funding opportunities.
This full-time position is based in Salt Lake City or Park City, UT, with occasional extended hours during peak periods and travel to Institute locations and events as required.

Partnering with the CRO to develop, refine, and implement revenue-focused strategies that align with organizational goals.
Streamlining departmental objectives, ensuring measurable outcomes for both short- and long-term initiatives.
Driving revenue enhancement strategies, including budget planning, donor stewardship, and planned giving initiatives.
Overseeing the development of strategic grant proposals, focusing on achieving a minimum of 10% year-over-year growth in Utah grants.
Leading the creation and execution of key initiatives such as impact reports, gratitude reports, and partnership proposals to support philanthropic and commercial goals.
Producing compelling communication materials that resonate with diverse audiences, including donors and partners.
Collaborating with teams to innovate content creation using platforms such as Canva, Adobe InDesign, and FlipSnack.
Leading the adoption and optimization of revenue platforms like FreeWill and Tatango, while identifying new technologies to enhance efficiency and outcomes.
You have the following direct or transferable qualifications and skills:
Legal authorization to work in the United States.
10+ years of experience in fundraising, business development, or a related field, with a proven record of achieving revenue targets.
Expertise in creating strategic proposals and marketing materials that drive revenue.
Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and collaborating across high-performing teams.
Proficiency in tools such as FlipSnack, Canva, Adobe InDesign, and Illustrator.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
Familiarity with the mission and values of the Sundance Institute, and a passion for fostering collaboration and creativity.

Develop at least six go-to-market strategies annually for revenue teams.
Increase total grant funding by a minimum of 10% annually.
Build a pipeline of at least 10 qualified planned giving donors each fiscal year.
Deliver two strategic initiatives annually based on data insights from Netsuite.
Achieve 90% participation in monthly cross-departmental strategy meetings.
Respond to internal and external inquiries within 48 hours and deliver monthly progress updates to the CRO.
