Location: Catholic Community Services of Utah, 437 W 200 S, SLC UT 84101
Status: Non-exempt, Part-time (16 hours per week)
Salary: $10-11/hr DOE

Job Description:
Coordinate the orderly serving of food to clients at the evening meal.  Clean, close, and secure the dining room and Saint Vincent De Paul (SVDP) facility.
 
Responsibilities include:
  1. Set up tables in dining room.
  2. Make sure clients observe the dining hall rules.
  3. Communicate security needs to security guards.
  4. Make sure clients are orderly during service and while eating.
  5. Wipe and fold up tables after evening meal.
  6. Sweep and mop the dining room floor and makes sure it is clean at all times.
  7. Clean bathroom sinks and toilets and mop bathroom floor.
  8. Cooperate with sous chef to lock dining room and secure gate.
 
Work Environment – inside/outside, office, warehouse, noise, temperature, etc.
  1. Ability to work outside, in cold and hot conditions.
  2. Uses caution when working near icy and slippery conditions
  3. Use ear protection and other necessary person protection equipment while operating equipment.
 
Physical Demands including bending, sitting, lifting and driving
  1. Ability to work standing on feet for hours at a time.
  2. Bending, lifting, and reaching as needed.
 
Skills, knowledge and abilities:
  1. Work independently.
  2. Able to give clear directions to a large group of people.
  3. Show respect toward clients, client’s families, and coworkers.
  4. Recognize need to keep bathroom and dining room clean and sanitary.
  5. Ability to refuse service to individuals who are a threat to the peace and safety of an event.
  6. Ability to de-escalate a potentially volatile situation.
  7. Must be able to lift between 25 and 50 pounds.
  8. Must possess the personal qualities of integrity, compassion, and empathy which encourage the trust and confidence in others.
 
Education, training and or experience:  
  1. High School diploma and/or equivalent experience.
  2. Familiar with the goals and mission of CCS.
 
Background Screen/BCI requirement
  1. Must pass a national FBI background check.
 
Licenses, certifications and credentials
  1. Current food handlers permit.
 
Position status and expected schedule  
  1. Part-time, 16 hours per week:  Friday 3-7pm, Saturday 8am-12pm & 3-7pm, Sunday 3-7pm.
