The Utah Black Chamber is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate individual. This person is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of policy and recommending action to the Board of Directors. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the coordination of the existing operations of the Chamber. The Executive Director develops, promotes, plans, and attends events, communicates effectively with the membership and develops an annual budget.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Chamber Development - The ability to anticipate emerging and long-term planning needs of the Chamber along with the creation and implementation of the strategic plan.
Board Relations – Build and maintain strong relationships and communications with the Board of Directors.
Membership Relations – Development and retention of current and future membership prospects. Finance – Responsible for financial oversight.
Events – Responsible for planning, executing, and attending events. om the Board of Directors. Grant writing may also be necessary for new or existing events in the future.
Staff/Operations – Responsible for the employment of all staff personnel.,
Public Policy – Stay informed on local, state, and federal issues and actions by agencies that may affect the membership or community..
Public Relations – Build and maintain positive relationships with all media outlets in the area and will utilize every opportunity presented to further the mission of the Chamber.
Reliable, self-motivated, outgoing and ability to motivate others.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong networking and leadership skills.

Presents a professional image whenever representing the Chamber.
Experience in understanding and developing accurate financial budgets, marketing plans, branding, and all other necessary plans to operate the day-to-day and long-term action plans of the Utah Black Chamber
Motivational leader who can attract, retain, develop, and empower and staff and volunteers
Excellent communication skills and presentation ability; comfortable with new and traditional
Time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize responsibilities
Demonstrated interest in the community and businesses of Utah and surrounding areas.
College Degree preferred or at least three-years experience in a related field of work
Some graphic design and marketing experience preferred, or willingness to learn
Valid driver’s license required
Some evening, weekends, and travel required
