DESCRIPTION:Kris Johnson is widely regarded as one of the most outstanding trumpeters and jazz musicians in Utah. Originally from Detroit\, Johnson relocated to Utah to serve as the director of jazz studies at the University of Utah. This concert features Kris Johnson and the U of U jazz ensemble which he directs. This is a free concert presented by Excellence in the Community and the Utah African American Chamber of Commerce. Every Wednesday throughout the month of February features a prominent local African-American musician in honor of Black History Month!
